EE SIM Only
Formed from the merger of Orange and T-Mobile, EE has fast become a force to be reckoned with in the UK mobile market.
Now owned by BT, EE has the largest and fastest network in the United Kingdom. EE were the first network to launch 4G and have built one of the biggest and fastest 4G networks in Europe and are the only network to offer double-speed 4G. They usually top the charts for the f fastest download speeds and boast arguably the best coverage of any UK network.
EE was also the first UK network to provide a 5G service, which takes speeds to a whole new level, and while no network currently offers 5G everywhere, their 5G rollout is progressing quickly. EE revamped their SIM plans to accommodate 5G and increase data allowances.
EE was named the fastest mobile network at the Uswitch 2021 mobile awards, indicating that EE is a well thought of by the industry and customers alike.
Merger with BT
In 2016, EE became a subsidiary of the BT Group. EE’s mobile network is the most stable in the UK, and it provides 5G in more areas than any other network. EE also operates over 600 stores in towns and cities around the country.
EE services were largely unaffected, and EE also powered the BT Mobile offering. EE customers can also receive BT Sport and TV services as part of some tariffs.
EE is now the main mobile brand for the BT group
In April 2022 BT announced a branding revamp. EE will become the “flagship brand for consumer consumers” (broadband and mobile plans) while BT will focus on Enterprise and Global businesses.
That means BT Mobile will gradually stop offering mobile plans for consumers, and BT branding will be less prominent on high street stores and advertising.
